Stop Thinking...Tomato

David brought a treat home for me last week.  It really looked like a tomato, not exactly the same kind of leaves.  But it had the color of a tomato and the skin of a tomato.  I knew it wasn't a tomato.  I was a little apprehensive about trying it.  But it looked so delicious and innocent.

And, yes.  I was so glad I tried it.  A persimmon.  I don't know that I have ever even seen one before now.  It was really sweet, but not a tomato.  I had to tell myself this with every bite.

Scrambled Eggs with a persimmon.  A great lunch.
They also dry persimmons whole.  They are something like a fig at that point.

  1. Brenda, I'm more fixated on the chopsticks. I could lose a lot of weight using those!! :-)

  2. Yes, those chopsticks keep the weight off. I learned a little trick with them on Sunday. Push rice or whatever into one of those glass Chinese spoons and eat it from the spoon. I'll have to blog about that with photos.
