You just never know what's going to happen on this journey. One day I was at the vegetable market and I saw this mother and daughter working together and the little girl was a cutie, so I asked if I could take their picture. Of course, I couldn't get it to focus right in the dimness so it turned out fuzzy. But, I really wanted to print it for them. I wrote in English, "You make me smile." as a caption. When I gave it to the mom she just loved it. She was showing it to everyone.
I had stopped to get vegetables for squash soup, but she just kept giving me vegetables.
I could hardly carry the bag home.
She asked me if I wanted one of these. Hmmm. I was a little hesitant, but took it.
When I got home I started investigating and I saw these little holes...ah lotus root.
We had some fried at a Japanese restaurant once, so I decided to try that.
They didn't turn out perfectly browned. I had to burn them somewhat.
The squash soup was my cousin Judy Kay's recipe and it turned out great.
David has a blender so it came out so nice and creamy.
I had picked up some black walnut bread at Franco Papa's to have with it.
It was all done when David got home from work. I felt like the perfect little homemaker.
( I really tried to center this paragraph. It could not be done.)
He's going to miss me when I'm gone.

You're not kidding!!! :-)
