I Know Whom I Have Believed

Have you ever been to a church service in a completely different language?  It is quite an experience to have.  The music is the best.  Suddenly, you think, I know this song!  This young man, Samuel, started playing the old familiar hymn, "I Know Whom I have Believed." on the keyboard accompanying the pastor on the guitar. He's only 11 years old and lives in our apartment building.

Dave teaches a class in English to teens.  I loved being a team with him again as we interacted with those students.  The pastor was with us to interpret anything the students didn't understand.  I can't believe the languages they know, Korean, Japanese, Chinese and English.  Their parents are thrilled that they get to speak English with Americans.  So it is win-win.  They get that experience and we get to share our faith with them.

  1. I remember the same at Christmas in Sweden....thinking how cool to recognize a song. Although, hearing it all in Chinese just seems a little more fascinating!
