'round, 'round, get around, I get around

I am getting around by myself these days.  Of course, everyone has to pantomime or speak English to me.  That is so pathetic, I know.  I'm learning to run errands.  Really, how does David do it without me?  It's a great little exercise to go out on a quest to buy some little thing and then maybe stop to get something to eat.  Then when I get back to the apartment I look at my receipts and look at the change I received and take notes on what that must have meant!  Ha.  Can you believe it?  I have to think that hard about spending money?

Of course, when I am in the store I have to scour the packages looking for some indication as to whether it is laundry soap or fabric softener.

I don't really know what these vendors think of me, but I try to be as polite as I can.  I do know how to say hello, thank you and good bye.  Ni hao. Xie Xie and Zaijian.

 

 

I even took Dave's suits jackets to the laundry.  When I told Dave he said "Did you have enough money with you?"  I said, "They didn't ask me for money."  He said, "I always have to pay first."  Hmmm.  Dumb luck or do I look more trustworthy or did I just not understand?  Those are the things that make me go hmmmm??? at night.
