Chinese Porcelain

David has made some of the most interesting friends over here.  This young man, Mark is from the U.K. and is so fun to know.  He is really bright and knows how everything on and off the planet works.  He also kind of knows me because he asked me if I wanted to visit his wife's porcelain showroom.  YESSSSS!  He said, "I thought you would."
Yuan is the district director for the "White Peony" ceramics company.  I had never met her before.  Just like all the other Chinese women I've gotten to know, she's beautiful.  Teeny, tiny with those fabulous sparkly Chinese shoes!  Whenever I mention these shoes to their husbands say....you should see her closet!  But I digress.
The showroom is just around the block from us.  It was breathtaking.  This particular set was used for the APEC (Asian Pacific Economic Counsel) meeting in 2014.  It is a 67 piece place setting.  Only 32 of the pieces were on display.
This set was also used for state meetings in China.
I loved how they displayed these dishes and I love the gentle colors.
It's cool how they displayed them too.  Can't wait to get back to my china closet.
These little bowls had uniquely Chinese colors on the inside.
I've never seen saucers like these before, they are flat.  For some reason this really threw me.
Now I'm trying to figure out how to get a set of these home.  So delicate and lovely.
Now I have to find out what the rest of the wives of these guys do.
