I think I might have found a new favorite garden. My friend Helen wanted to take me to "The Lingering Garden" because she thought I would like it much more than "The Humble Administrator's Garden". Her reasoning was that the Lingering Garden felt more feminine. I can't explain it, but it does. So we went on a very busy Friday afternoon. I'm so used to hordes of people now that I hardly noticed that it was packed with people. Our Korean friend, her mom and son went with us. I only know the little boy's name. It something like Han Yee but we call him Honey.
It is such a fabulous time to be here with all the spring flowers blooming. I love the wisteria.
This little shelter on the right is perfect for playing mahjong or cards as they are doing here. I think my Johnson family would love renting this place for a week instead of going to the lake sometime. Ha. At one point in the last 500 years it was used as a resort.
This is another view of the card playing shelter.
I wish I could show you all the little rooms.
This might be a good spot for us to play S-P-O-O-N-S.
Oh yes, there is fishing too.
Katri could have us all do a little art project with rocks and glass.
I wonder how many times we would have to dump the recycling?
You don't whack your peonies off every autumn so they get these marvelous stems. The Peony is China's national flower.
The tree in the right side of the design is a hydrangea. I could hardly believe my eyes. They are such a lovely plant, but when they get so tall and gnarly it really is something to behold.
One of the hundreds of bonsai trees.
I do like "The Lingering Garden". I'll be back.

I am loving these garden tours Brenda! Everything is so pretty !
ReplyDeleteHow nice you can be there in spring time. It looks very tranquil. Even here in AZ the cacti are blooming and are spectacular. This is a very cheap way for me to see China!! :-)
